In industries, there are many different types of operations done on regular basis, which make the industries more efficient and smoothly working. One of the major operations that are performed in every industry on daily basis is bolting operations. The bolting operations are used for securing various fixtures and machine parts using any studs, fasteners and bolts. If these operations are not done in an effective manner, it can lead to a very bad quality of end products and services along with a major safety threat in the workshop. In order to make sure that bolting is done properly, you need to use appropriate tools for the operations. Here are some of the bolting tools, used in the industries for better operations.
Open end wrenches
The open end wrenches are use for normal daily bolting tasks. These wrenches have two openings, one at each end, which is used for moving the fasteners. The openings have different sizes; hence a single wrench can be used for two different sizes of fasteners. The openings are tilted at a given angle with the shaft, which allows in easy movement while using the wrench.
Impact wrenches
The impact wrenches are the most widely used wrenches in the industries as they provide you very high power and are used for sturdy operations in harsh working environments. They use very high force of impact on the fasteners to tighten or loosen them, hence are named as impact wrenches. The impact wrenches are used along with very high duty sockets that are specially designed to be used with impact wrenches as they can bear very high impact forces. The normal sockets cannot bear such high impacts and can shatter very easily in very less time. The impact wrenches available in three types that are electric impact wrenches, pneumatic impact wrenches and hydraulic impact wrenches.
Torque wrenches
Torque wrenches are used in industries where you need very high amount of forces, as well as very high degree of accuracy. The torque wrenches are provided with a means to measure the force applied on a fastener. In this way, you can stop the application of force at the right time and avoid the damage to the nut head due to over tightening. The torque wrenches are available in three different types that are simple torque wrenches, hydraulic torque wrenches, and pneumatic torque wrenches.
Nut splitters
Many times, when you are trying to move a nut, you find it hard to move as the nut is jammed. Now the most commonly used means of moving a jammed nut is hammering, which is not right. It might damage the assembly near the nut and also produces sparks, which are dangerous for workplaces like oil and gas pipelines. For this reason, a nut splitter is used as it can move a jammed nut in very less time with very less efforts and without causing any sparks or damage to the assemble.
