The role of handheld tools in industries

Industries hold a very important place in our society and so do the industrial tools. The main goal of every industry is to lower the production cost and increased the productivity and efficiency of workers and equipments. Industrial tools are the best known friends for a worker in an industry. They not only allow a worker to do the tasks with very less effort, but they also help him to perform various tasks in very less time and with greater accuracy. This helps in increasing the productivity and efficiency of the workers.

The most widely used tools in an industry are the handheld tools, which are portable and can be taken to any part of an industry. They are used to perform smaller tasks, which cannot be performed by the fixed and heavy tools. Some of the handheld tools that are majorly used in industries are as follows.

Welding torch

In any industry, there is usual wear and tear at regular basis. The parts of machines break down and are needed to be repaired as soon as possible to restore proper work. In order to fix those broken metal parts, welding torches are used. Welding is the process of joining two metal parts by use of molten metal. Welding provides a better solution for broken parts and eliminated the need for replacement of that machine component.

Wrenches

Another major process that is performed in industries on regular basis is bolting. Bolting is done to fasten nuts and bolts to various fixtures and machine parts. Wrenches are the tools that are used for performing bolting operation efficiently. Wrenches are of, basically, two types- impact wrenches and torque wrenches. The impact wrenches are simple wrenches using electric or pneumatic drives to operate. The impact wrenches are efficient, but are not very accurate. For more accurate bolting operations, torque wrenches are used as they provide you a means of measuring the force applied by the wrench on the fasteners allowing you to stop at the right time amount and prevent over-tightening of fasteners.

Tool balancers

The main objective of any industry is to increase the productivity and efficiency of workers but with handheld tools, the hands of a worker get occupied and he becomes unable to do further work. Tool balancers provide an effective solution to this problem. The tool balancers are the equipments that are used for holding and transporting handheld tools from one part of a plant to another. The tool balancers have a metal wire wounded under a metal casing and controlled by spring. This metal wire is meant to hold the tools and the worker can easily pull down the tools when needed and when not in use, tools are automatically pulled up by the tool balancer leaving the workstation and the hands of the worker free.
