Tube cleaning is done for removal of scale, sludge and dirt from the tubes, which are introduced to the tubes along with water that is fed to the boiler. This accumulation of sludge can lead to poor heat transfer and more fuel consumption leading to economic loss. For some smaller boilers, chemicals and cleaning agents are used and cleaning of tubes is done manually, but for bigger boilers, manual cleaning is not feasible hence tube cleaning system are used. Tube cleaning in larger boilers is done using various tube cleaning systems that are electric, hydraulic and pneumatic tube cleaners, which perform cleaning very efficiently and in very less time.

After cleaning of tubes, complete inspection of boiler is done to find any defective, damaged or malfunctioning component in the boiler. If any defect is found in any of the components of the boiler, it is replaced with an immediate effect. Operating a boiler with defective components can be very dangerous and causes serious accidents.
